DIY Brand Renovation: Brandma's House

This Ain't A Rebrand

a space that needs a brand renovation

I didn’t change.

I clarified.

What’s been happening around The House isn’t a rebrand, remodel, or identity crisis. It’s a renovation. Brandma’s House is still standing, but shit was creak'n, and the rooms were beg'n to be converted into Wings. So I’ve been pull'n up shit, patch'n shit, and toss'n shit left and right because it wan't work'n for me or I didn't wanna be bothered.

And here’s something that dawned on me in all that digital dust. Most Founders aren’t brand broken, they’re brand buried. Buried under advice that doesn’t fit.

Buried under messaging meant for someone else’s audience. Buried under expectations to either shrink or shout.

That’s not branding. That’s suffocation.

Brand Renovation at Home

So let me tell you what a brand renovation looks like from the inside?

  • It’s not selling my ebooks on the site anymore. Not because they weren’t selling, but because sales tax is a pain in my ass from way back. You want my work? Kindly go to Amazon and the like to buy the paperback or hardback. The Private Reserve has free ebooks, handbooks, and other downloads.

  • It’s renaming my offers because I got tired of folx misunderstand'n what I meant by a “Hook Up.” I was come'n off cheap, easy, and quick. I can be all tose things but not at the same time. Now they’ll be named accordingly: Brand Renovation, Brand Remodel, and so on.

  • It’s adding a Peep Show. My unapologetically voyeuristic case study room. No before-and-after glossys. Just the first seven down and dirty pages of real strategic work. Some are real clients, some are aspirational, and some are just fake. But they're all fucking valuable.

  • It’s introducing N.A.G. because I don’t coach, coddle, or clap back for no reason. I Nurture, Advise, Guide, with Brandmotherly love, logic, and the occasional side-eye.

This is me bring'n my own brand up to C.O.D.E. I'm talk'n Contemplation, Objectives, Dedication, Ethics. I’m not just building for visibility. I’m building for valuation.

Brand renovations aren’t about keep'n up appearances. They’re about stay'n in alignment with the truth of your house and the folx you wanna have in it.

That’s what I teach. That’s what I do. And that’s what I’ve done.

If you’ve been feel'n some kinda way about your brand because it's close but not quite true to the evolution of "you," maybe it don't need a rebrand.

Maybe it just needs a Brandmother with a Brandbox and a truth serum.
