The first book in Brandma’s “& Series” reframes brand archetypes as lived cultural forces shaping how Founders behave, lead, and relate under pressure.
Branding strategist, author, and cultural commentator Phyllis “Brandma” Williams-Strawder, known as the Ghetto Country Brandmother®, announces the release of Archetypes & Attitude, the first book in her new “& Series.” The book reframes traditional brand archetypes as lived psychological forces that shape how Founders behave, lead, and relate under pressure.
Unlike conventional branding books focused on tactics, aesthetics, or visibility, Archetypes & Attitude centers on attitude as behavior, not performance. Through cinematic bar-room scenes, founder psychology, cultural avatars, and behavioral insight, the book examines how archetypes show up when things are working, when they are breaking, and when pressure exposes the truth.
Structured around twelve archetypes including Ruler, Rebel, Lover, Sage, and Explorer, the book positions archetypes not as personality labels but as attitudinal postures. Each chapter explores how identity, fear, desire, and power interact in real decision-making, especially for founders, creators, and leaders navigating growth, visibility, and authority.
“Most brand work teaches people how to look aligned,” says Williams-Strawder. “This book focuses on how alignment behaves. Attitude leaks before strategy ever speaks.”
Archetypes & Attitude sets the foundation for the full “& Series,” which will continue with Desires & Demeanor, Distortions & Discipline, Language & Literal Shit, and Boundaries & Being. Together, the series examines brand behavior as a human system, not a marketing function.
The book is published under Espresso Mischief, a publishing imprint within Brandma’s House, and is available in paperback and hardback formats.Archetypes & Attitude
