Brandma’s House Documents the Five-Year Development of Brand Behavior™

Archived Clubhouse room scripts, a federal service-mark filing and later frameworks trace the work from Brand Ego to a Founder-centered business discipline.
Brandma’s House today released a documented origin record for Brand Behavior™, showing how Phyllis Williams-Strawder’s work developed across five years; from live Clubhouse teaching about Brand Ego to a named discipline for understanding what Founders and their brands repeatedly do under pressure.
The record draws from original Clubhouse room scripts dated as early as March 8, 2022; a federal service-mark application filed April 14, 2022; Brand Ego teaching decks created in 2023; and the first indexed Brandma’s House article to explicitly name Brand Behavior, published May 31, 2025.
"Brand Behavior didn't show up because I needed another piece of language. It grew because I kept watching Founders build brands that said one thing and behaved like something else." 💋 Phyllis Williams-Strawder, Brandma |
THE DOCUMENTED PROGRESSION
DATE | DOCUMENTED DEVELOPMENT |
2021 | Williams-Strawder starts teaching Brand Ego in Clubhouse rooms. A later federal filing claims first commercial use on July 9, 2021 |
March 2022 | Original Clubhouse room scripts define Brand Ego as how a brand perceives itself, distinguish it from Brand Identity and Brand Image, and connect it to confidence, boundaries, audience choice and the ability to say no. |
April 2022 | A federal service-mark application for BRAND EGO is filed for brand concept and brand development services. The application did not proceed to registration and was later abandoned after an Office action. |
August 2023 | The Brand Ego C.A.M.P. framework - Communicate, Audience, Marketing and Positioning- is placed inside the Complete Solopreneur Brand Matrix, turning the idea into an operating model for brand leadership. |
May 2025 | "You Have a Brand Behavior Problem: And Data Can't Fix It" becomes the earliest indexed Brandma's House article found to explicitly name Brand Behavior as the repeated actions that expose a gap between what a brand says and what it does |
2025 to present | Brand Behavior™, Brand Ego, Brand Attitude™ and Founder-First Brand Architecture™ are developed as a connected body of work for diagnosing the Founder-brand relationship. |
FROM SELF-PERCEPTION TO REPEATED ACTION
The earliest scripts treated a brand as something with an interior life, not just a visual identity or an external reputation. In the March 8, 2022 script, Williams-Strawder wrote: “Brand Ego is about how it perceives itself.” Two weeks later, she tied that self-perception to behavior: pricing, people-pleasing, audience selection, partnership decisions, confidence and boundaries.
That shift matters. Brand Ego named the brand’s internal self-concept. Brand Behavior named what that self-concept makes the Founder and the business do repeatedly, especially when money, visibility, rejection, growth or conflict applies pressure.
In Brandma’s House methodology, Brand Behavior is therefore not a campaign, personality exercise or synonym for company culture. It is the observable pattern produced by the relationship among the Founder’s decisions, the brand’s promises and the systems that either reinforce or contradict them.
A CATEGORY CLAIM BUILT ON RECEIPTS
Brandma’s House is not claiming the first-ever use of the general phrase “brand behavior.” The documented claim is narrower and more consequential: Williams-Strawder developed Brand Behavior™ as a Founder-centered business discipline, with an identifiable lineage, original definitions, proprietary frameworks and a body of applied work.
The archive shows a progression rather than a retroactive origin story: a live-room idea in 2021; written doctrine and commercial use in 2022; a teachable operating framework in 2023; and an explicitly named category by 2025.
WHY PUBLISH THE ORIGIN RECORD NOW
As Brand Behavior grows from a point of view into a category, the archive establishes what the work is, where it came from and how it differs from adjacent ideas. It also creates a public reference point for future books, diagnostics, case studies, advisory work and education developed under the Brandma’s House umbrella.
“A category doesn't become real because somebody says it loudly,” Williams-Strawder said. “It becomes real when the language holds up, the framework can be taught, the work can be applied and the receipts show that the thinking has been developing over time.”
ABOUT BRAND BEHAVIOR™
Brand Behavior™ is the Founder-centered discipline of examining what a brand repeatedly does through decisions, boundaries, communication, systems and responses under pressure, and aligning those actions with what the brand claims to believe. It connects internal self-perception, external experience and operational follow-through.
